To assist with the development of qualified and prepared public relations professionals by increasing public relations knowledge, offering hands-on opportunities, and providing resources to gain access to professional opportunities.

We strive to be a proactive organization promoting membership and involvement. We work to arm members with the tools needed to engage in the public relations field as full, active participants. PRSSA is dedicated to member development of ethical, highly trained professionals.
Goals
- To act as a liaison between PRSSA chapter members and PRSA professional members in order to establish mutually beneficial relationships.
- To give students an opportunity to receive hands on public relations experience outside of the classroom.
- To allow students to interact with other students and share their experiences pertaining to internships, courses, and career searches.
- To provide members with local, regional, and national opportunities to grow and expand their professional network.
PRSSA at WSU Bylaws
The purpose of PRSSA at WSU is to encourage the understanding of current theories and procedures in the practice of public relations, to provide and promote a better understanding of the functions of public relations and its values, to stimulate and encourage public relations professionalism through public relations education, to apply the skills, creativity and energy of public relations to help solve social problems, to develop the individual abilities of its members, to provide students of public relations with the opportunity to become acquainted not only with their peers but with professional practitioners as well, and to encourage students to adhere to the highest ideals and principles of the practice of public relations and to instill in them a professional attitude.
