Public Relations Student Society of America News & Events

I would like to be involved with PR and Communications aspiring professionals. My goal is to work in the PR or Communications industry and my mom was a Murrow PR grad in 1992 and has worked at Microsoft since 1993. She loved her PRSSA membership and I’m excited to network, share internship and speaker information. Hoping to get my internship narrowed down in December for next summer. Goal is to intern in Manhattan Spring of 2021

I am currently double majoring in Public Relations and Psychology here at WSU. Upon graduation, I hope to find a job working in Public Relations, either at an agency or working internally for a company. I had an internship in Human Resources this past summer, but I also spent time working with the PR and internal communications teams. This helped me realize that I want to pursue a career in Public Relations. I hope that PRSSA can help me further my knowledge of Public Relations and provide me resources to help me succeed.

The internships that I’ve had are working for Spokane Public School District in the Instructional Technology Department, a Library Technical Assistant at Spokane Falls Community College, and at Northwest Public Broadcasting.

I’m a father of two beautiful little girls with an incredible wife, a former animal welfare professional, and veteran. My intentions in joining PRSSA is to maximize my networking opportunities and cultivate valuable and long-lasting relationships. I am currently a full-time student and hold a part-time role as a contributing writer for the Snohomish Tribune.

My most immediate work experience prior to fully committing myself to my education was as a program coordinator for Seattle Humane, both as the Dog Training Coordinator & Behavior Associate, as well as the Dog Foster Coordinator. These roles taught me the value of establishing a diverse and well-connected network, in addition to introducing myself to interests in PR and Communications. From representing the organization on TV to recruiting and empowering a network of volunteers, it was a valuable and rewarding experience.

I hope to get some knowledge on how to proceed in into the workforce and how to succeed after graduation. I would like to work in a firm after graduation. An internship I recently had was working with a lot of online pieces as well as press releases and it helped me polish my writing skills.
